NORTH CAROLINA FEDERAL COURTS

North Carolina State Courts
The Supreme Court of North Carolina is the state's highest court, and parties have no further appeal from its decisions on matters of state law. The court comprises of the Chief Justice and six associate justices, each of whom serves an eight-year term.
North Carolina Court of Appeals
The Court of Appeals is North Carolina's intermediate appellate court. Fifteen judges hear cases in panels of three. Judges of the Court of Appeals serve eight-year terms and are elected in a non-partisan election.
